Malaysia gains its first quantum-safe payment platform

SecurePay completes 100% milestone of post-quantum cryptography integration into the payment gateway.
SecurePay Sdn Bhd today announced the successful completion of the PTPKM PQC Sandbox Program, becoming the first payment platform in Malaysia to integrate post-quantum cryptography into a live payment gateway. The proof-of-concept integrates the KAZ-SIGN post-quantum digital-signature algorithm directly into the SecurePay API, delivering quantum-resistant signing and verification of merchant API messages end-to-end.
The full workflow — key-pair generation, certificate issuance, message signing and verification — was validated across 500, 1,000 and 2,000 concurrent operations, achieving 100% validation accuracy with zero false positives or false negatives, at ~2.3 ms end-to-end latency on dedicated hardware. The intellectual property has been formally submitted as part of the programme's Phase 4.
"This is the foundation Malaysian merchants need to enter the post-quantum era with confidence — and a reference model for a national PQC migration. We're proud to be first," the company said.
